Every tile tells a story.

We started Standard Issue Mahjong with one simple idea: the tiles should feel like yours.

Not just the pieces you play with, but little reminders of the places, people and moments that make up your life. A bluebonnet from the first spring you spent in Texas. The matchbooks you added to your collection over the years. The stores that remind you of shopping trips with your grandmother. Icons of your college town that make you wish you were a freshman again. The first time you navigated the subway without GPS and finally felt like a real New Yorker. Or the time your husband finally admitted he was into Mahjong.

We design each set so that when someone picks up a tile, they don't just play it. They say, "Oh, remember when…" And suddenly the table's laughing about that one girls' trip, or arguing (lovingly) over which spot really has the best margarita.

That's the magic of Mahjong. It's strategy and luck, sure. But mostly, it's an excuse to gather. To pour the good wine, pull up a chair, and spend a few hours with the people who know you best.

So we make sets worthy of that. Thoughtfully designed, beautifully made, and full of the details that make a place feel like home. Every one of our Collectives is a love letter to the places and things we cherish, and to the memories that made us.
